Psychotherapy Training: Therapeutic Relationship & Approaches

In module one, we will learn about the instructor and their professional background in the field of psychotherapy. It also discusses the key topics that will be explored throughout the course.

In module two, we will explore the definition of psychotherapy, as well as the main differences between counselling and psychotherapy. It also covers the types of people that need and benefit from psychotherapy. 

In module three, we will learn how to set up a therapeutic environment and explore the principles of maintaining a positive therapeutic relationship. We will also develop our active listening skills and learn some effective stress management techniques.

In module four, we will learn what person-centred therapy entails and the skills required for providing person-centred therapy. It also includes an in-depth overview of Gestalt therapy and existential psychotherapy. 

In module five, we will explore the different forms of psychotherapy, from CBT to psychodynamic therapy.

In module six, we will explore the different types of mental health conditions, taking an in-depth look at their causes, symptoms and treatment. It includes eating disorders, anxiety, depression and schizophrenia.

In module seven, we will take a look at the different ways we can support clients who self-harm and are struggling with suicidal thoughts or a relationship breakdown. 

In this final module, we will gain an insight into the role of a therapist and the skills required to work in this field. It covers duties and responsibilities, career route and qualifications.
