Rather than covering the full teaching cycle in depth, this Level 3 Award focuses on building core knowledge: understanding the teacher’s role and its boundaries, appreciating how to make teaching inclusive, and understanding how assessment works within education and training.

The Focus Awards Level 3 Award in Education and Training (RQF) is internally assessed through a portfolio of evidence. There are no written examinations.

Learners must build a portfolio of evidence demonstrating that they have met the required learning outcomes and assessment criteria for each unit. Depending on the unit and assessment requirements, evidence may include:

To achieve this qualification, learners must complete 12 credits in total, made up of one unit from each of the three unit groups below.

Introduces the teacher's role and responsibilities, relevant legislation and codes of practice, and the professional boundaries of the teaching role.

Understanding and Using Inclusive Teaching and Learning Approaches in Education and Training

Covers how to plan and use inclusive teaching and learning approaches that support individual learner needs and create an effective learning environment.

Understanding Assessment in Education and Training

Introduces assessment principles, different types and methods of assessment, and how assessment can be used to support learning.
