The deeper you go into law, the more you discover that “it depends” can be a surprisingly serious legal answer. The ATHE Level 5 Extended Diploma in Law is a 120-credit, Ofqual-regulated qualification designed to take your legal studies to a more advanced level.
Building on previous legal study, the qualification takes you through four substantial areas of law: Equity and Trusts, EU Law, Land Law and the Law of Tort. Each unit carries 30 credits, giving you the opportunity to examine how legal principles apply to property, civil liability, trusts and the relationship between domestic and European law.
You will explore how trusts are created and administered, examine rights and interests relating to land, and investigate when civil liability may arise through negligence and other areas of tort. EU Law introduces the institutions and legal framework of the European Union, including the operation and enforcement of EU law and principles relating to free movement.
Together, the four units strengthen your ability to interpret legal principles, analyse legal problems and apply relevant law to different scenarios, providing a solid platform for further undergraduate legal study and continued professional development.
