Course Curriculum

Module one provides an overview of child psychology. It describes the scopes, areas and stages of child psychology development. 

Module two explains the conncetion between attachment and relation building in childhood. Here, we’ll learn about different types of attachment and theories related to attachment such as Bowlby’s Attachment Theory and Evolutionary Theory. 

In this module, we’ll understand the impacts of separation and loss on relation building in childhood. Also, we’ll learn how separation impacts the psychological development of children. 

Module four discusses the different factors that influence development in childhood. Here, we’ll learn about the impact of parenting styles and the exposure of family problem on a child’s psychology. 

In this module, we’ll broaden our understanding of cognitive development. We’ll learn about cognitive development in diffeent stages of life such as infancy, preschool, middle years and adolescents. 

Module six discusses the social and emotional development process in childhood. It explains thae stages of emotional development and teh factors influencing the process. 

In this module, we’ll deepen our understanding of personality and intellectual development in children. We’ll learn about brain development and Erikson and Sullivan’s Stages of psychosocial growth. Also, we’ll learn about the role paren’t motivation in children psychology. 

In module eight we’ll explore the stages of language development. Here, we’ll learn about phenological development, lexical evelopment, and morpho-sysntactic development. Also, we’ll understand learning and communication difficulties and the factors influencing language development. 

This module focuses on the stages of moral development and the factors that influence the process in childhood. 

Module 10 provides an overview of SEN support, what it is and how to assess the needs for such support. 

In this module, we’ll learn about High-Quality Teaching (HQT) or Pupils with SEN and developing good relationships with pupils. 

Module 12 discusses the different methodologies for SEN teaching. It explains focus planning, engagement and challenge, etc. 

In this module, we’ll understand different autism and learning disabilities related to autism such as ADHD and Dyslexia. 

Module 14 focuses on different types of self harming behaviour, such as suicide and substance abuse. Also it explains the reasons of depreession and how to deal with that. 

In this module, we’ll learn about mental health treatment and medication for special cases. We’ll learn about different mental illness, such as Schizophrenia, Mood Disorders and Anxiety Disorders. 

In this module, we’ll learn about the distribution of mental illness over lifespan. Also, we’ll focus on some statistics regarding the distribution of mental illness over society and most suffering social groups in the UK contxt.
