In this introductory module, we will explore the key topics that will be covered in this course, with an overview of child counselling and its definition.
In module two, we will learn about the development cycle in children and its complexities. It also explores the parent/child/teacher relationship in detail.
In module three, we will deepen our understanding of the therapeutic power of language and the type of language used in therapy/counselling sessions. We will also learn some effective strategies to communicate better with children and young people.
In module four, we will take a look at the different types of psychological issues and their causes, symptoms and treatment. It explores their common characteristics and how to identify them in children.
In module five, we will take an in-depth look at the psychological study of education and the therapeutic outcome, with practical guidance on how to apply our newfound skills in a clinical setting.
In module six, we will deepen our understanding of the role of the Child Counsellor, career opportunities in this industry and the professional requirements needed to kickstart a career in this field.
