Diploma in Child Care

In module one, we will gain an in-depth understanding of child development, the stages and areas of child development, as well as the factors that affect growth and development.

In module two, we will explore the needs of children in regards to child care provision, such as physical touch, clothing, and bed time routines.

In module three, we will learn about health and nutrition in childhood, exploring the different food groups, food allergies and the key elements of a balanced diet, as well as healthy meal ideas for children. 

In module four, we will learn how to teach children good daily personal hygiene. It also includes health and safety guidance and essential information on accidents, hazards, and safety equipment.

In module five, we will explore the fundamentals of child protection and learn how to recognise signs of abuse and neglect in children.  It covers practical training that is a must for anyone who works with or cares for children.

In module six, we will learn how to promote learning and development through play, imagination and creativity. It includes information on the different types of play and why play is so important for mental growth in childhood.

In module seven, we will explore health services, educational, leisure, recreational and social services for children, and their functions. 

In the final module, we will develop our understanding of special educational needs and disabilities, learning how to provide care for children who have physical impairments, social, emotional needs and learning disorders.
